Another LO

Well, I got on the youtube train today. :) I only have 3 videos of my cat, but I was messing around with a video editing program and didn't wanna mess up a good video! Anyways, you guys should check out my videos. Hopefully I will be getting a video of my scrap space up this week.

This is another lift from Kelly Goree (who can be found in the blog post below this post). I just love her LO's using the new Basic Grey Green At Heart. Anyways. I think that is all I have for today!

New layout

Woohoo, 2 new followers! Welcome! haha. I have a new layout to post. I actually scrap lifted the whole thing from the wonderful Kelly Goree (Basic Grey designer). I am kind of having a hard time getting into this paper line. I think it's simply yummy though! I love the little animals and butterflies this line has... Anyways. Here are the pictures!

So there is my layout for today. I love how Kelly did all of the layering, so of course I had to lift her ideas! I am not good at coming up with ideas myself, but I love a good lift! Thanks for looking!

I'M BACK!!

Boy it's been a long few months, but hopefully I am back to stay! I am sorry to all 9 of my followers. haha!

My mom had a heart attack, and I am now planning a wedding, a scrapbook retreat, and a trip to Texas. Whew! Talk about being busy. Matt is coming home in June, so I am also planning stuff for our 2+ weeks where he will be home. I am so excited to see him again. Sadly, I haven't made any projects recently that have been "blog worthy" but I do have a pretty nice picture of Matt!!

Isn't he adorable!! Even with him holding 3 different guns! lol! I will hopefully have some pages and maybe even my first video! I have done a lot to my scrap area, so maybe I'll do a video of my scrap area :)

Just an update

I have finished a few projects, but i'm still trying to get used to my digital program, and this computer. Hopefully they will be up soon! My mom's birthday was on Friday, so we celebrated her birthday on Friday and Saturday. I've eaten more calories in 2 days then I have in 2 weeks! I am working on getting together Matt's first care package. I am pretty excited about that! I don't really have much to talk about, I just thought I would get on and let everyone know I'm still alive! I haven't been on sb.com lately either. I've been pretty busy trying to find a job, but it's been really hard! Especially with not having any school. Anyways, I'm hoping to have my first digital pages up and maybe a peak at my scrap area here in the next week! (first I have to clean my area! it's a disaster!) Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

More stuff :)

Today is my last official day doing just paper scrapbooking! Yes, I have taken the bait, and I am getting a program tomorrow to (hopefully) catch up on my scrapbooking and get me up to date!

Here are my 2 latest!

I love this sketch! Can be found here! That was the inspiration for this page! I used the sugar rush line from Basic Grey (i'm such a sucker for my BG!) I also used a ticket from Jenni Bowlin. I inked the ticket as well as all of the edges for the flowers with Tim Holtz distress ink (worn lipstick, spiced marmalade, and firebrick) and of course, I used stickles! My letters are thickers by American Crafts, and my ribbon is generic from Walmart I bought from when I first started scrapping (which my one year anniversary is coming up! one year of continuous scrapping!) I love those flowers! Those were my first lollipop flowers, and I simply adore them! Make them yourself! I got the tutorial from Helen Croft's Blog. She is wonderful! Oh, one last comment on this LO, I put 2 small brads thru the holes in the buttons, and it came out kinda cute (yes, i'm a little slow on that!) it reminds me of the top of a cupcake!

More Basic Grey! haha! This was done using the Basic Grey Indian Summer line. I never use this many pictures on a LO, but was inspired by yet another sketch (my 3 loves, sketches, basic grey, and these new lollipop flowers! ok, five loves... perfect pearls and glossy accents!). You can find the sketch Here! Ok, so information! I used the fiskar's border punch and punched the edge of the pink/white paper, put a strip of another peice of paper under it, then put that over the red paper! and viola! the background :) the journaling is done on a journaling paper from this line with a transparency over it. Take a look at the lollipop flower! wow, those are too cute! I love them! I played with my flower more this time though. First I inked all of the pieces, then I rubbed perfect pearls all over the purple pieces to make them shimmer. Then I put some stickles on the rim and let them dry! I love these flowers because if you do it right, IRL they look like they are fabric! It's a wonderful texture type of look. I put a rub on flourish behind my title (flourish from indian summer) and the letters are from thickers called black daiquiri. (Yes, I know, i'm missing a h, but I lost it! haha)

woo! 2 blog posts in 1 day! I just thought I would share some of my latest stuff :)

This card was done using some techniques from two peas in a bucket's Thinking Inking class with Jennifer McGuire. I LOVE this line of tutorials! Thinking Inking. Here is part one of week one. It's a 9 week class and she does 3 classes per week. If you haven't watched her tutorials, then you need to :) Anyways, this card was the first one that i've ever done with inks. I took white cardstock and inked it up with worn lipstick and dusty concord distress inks by ranger. Then I took a paint brush and shook the brush so water fell onto the background. These flowers are from Prima. They were originally white with pink writing and flourishes, but when stamped with dusty concord, it turned them purple and the pink showed thru. The ribbon I also inked with dusty concord. The tag was cut out of white cardstock, inked with fired brick by ranger then I stamped with water and it made bleachy looking hearts!

This layout was done was done using Basic Grey's Indian Summer. The butterflies and heart was an experiment project that went wrong, but I ended up loving the effects!! I stamped them with some old ink that I had ( $1 dollar ink) and I inked them up with Tim Holt's inker tool. Well I got tired of waiting for it to dry (almost 2 hours!) and it still wasn't done, so I took the heat gun to them (Oh, forgot to mention they were clear acrylic ghost shapes from Heidi Swapp) and they ended up warping! As you can tell on the smaller butterfly, it looks kind of cool and 3D looking. I will for sure be doing this technique again!

  

This LO was done using We R Memory Keepers Nonsense line. I had to cut EVERYTHING out of patterned paper! I cut the flourishes, the wave looking things and birds, the tree branch/leaves and flowers out of patterned paper. I applied stickles (broken china, crystal, antique linen, and lime green) to the waves, leaves, and birds. I also used glossy accent (if you don't have any of this, go get some NOW!) on the flowers. I am officially obsessed with making my own embellishments! I spent most of New Years eve working on cutting out and applying stuff to these shapes! It was well worth it though!

 

 This layout was originally for the anything goes challenge, but I had to drop out of it. Mat and I have been talking about our future a lot lately, and it was nice to have it all down on paper! This was done using We R Memory Keeper's nonsense line. I used a border punch on the edge (threading water by Fiskars) on the decorated strip. I also used a punch (by EK Success) to make my own journaling/title block. Then I ran it thru my Cuttlebug to emboss it, then inked it lightly to make the raised parts show up a little more. I also cut out the wave from patterned paper and applied glossy accents to parts of it!

Again, I am sorry for such bad pictures! I only have my iphone right now, untill I can get a charger cord for my camera! Thanks for looking!
